Meghan Markle Rewears Tweed Dress and Romantic Valentine’s Day Present From Prince Harry to Rare Date Night

The As Ever founder rewore a gray tweed Chanel bandeau dress for a New York City date night with husband Prince Harry, where they were third-wheeled by the best of third wheels: Ed Sheeran. The three visited Soho House in NYC, a spot special to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as London’s Soho House was where they had their very first date all the way back in July 2016.

Meghan originally wore her Chanel dress in her profile for The Cut in 2022, and, speaking of The Cut, that outlet interviewed Balenciaga creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, whose show Meghan attended at Paris Fashion Week on October 4—marking her PFW debut.

“Meghan and I met some years ago, and we’ve been texting ever since,” he said. “She reached out and said she’d love to come to the show. There was no strategy or big orchestration. I didn’t tell anyone she was coming because I wanted it to stay a surprise. In fashion, real surprises are rare, and this one was beautiful.”

Back to Meghan’s date night in Chanel—the strapless dress, which featured a sweetheart neckline, was from the house’s Fall/Winter 2022/2023 collection; she paired it with black pointed-toe Balenciaga pumps, a black Giorgio Armani clutch, and a pair of Maya Brenner earrings that were originally a Valentine’s Day gift from Harry in 2024, the fashion site What Meghan Wore reported.

It seems that every time Harry and Meghan are in a city with a Soho House, they stop by. They did so also back in March 2024 when Meghan was in Austin to speak at SXSW there; a source told People at the time that the two “were happy and in great spirits. Harry was very animated throughout the dinner. They were super low-key and seemed happy to be around the upbeat vibes at the lively venue.”

Overall, Meghan seemed charmed with her entire NYC trip, sharing a behind-the-scenes reel from her trip with Harry on Instagram and captioning it, “Until the next time, NYC—thanks for the memories!
