Lang Realty team celebrates promotion, new addition

The Amy & Noreen Team at Lang Realty recently celebrated the promotion of a key team member and the addition of new talent to its group of real estate professionals. Paige Mercado has been promoted to director of business development and newly licensed Realtor® Gimena Dimilta has joined the team. Lang Realty was founded in 1989 and has offices in Palm Beach, Broward, and St. Lucie Counties.

Friends of Manatee Lagoon appoints executive director

Friends of Manatee Lagoon recently annouced the appointment of Sarah Marmion as its new executive director. Prior to joining the organization, Marmion served as senior manager of education and outreach for Florida Power & Light Company. In her new role, Marmion will oversee strategic planning, educational initiatives, fundraising, the annual Soiree for Seagrass, and community partnerships that support the mission of Manatee Lagoon to educate the public about manatees and the Lake Worth Lagoon ecosystem. “Sarah’s leadership and passion for conservation make her the perfect choice to guide Friends of Manatee Lagoon into its next chapter,” said Anne Messer, former executive director. Messer joined the board of directors following Marmion’s appointment. Friends of Manatee Lagoon is dedicated to protecting manatees in Florida’s coastal regions and restoring and protecting their aquatic habitat.

Education Foundation adds education veterans to board

The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, which serves as a nexus between the county’s public schools and the community, has announced that School District of Palm Beach County leaders Maria Bishop and Jamie Wyatt have joined its board of directors. Wyatt is the deputy superintendent and chief of schools for the school district and has a 30-year career committed to ensuring all children receive a high-quality education. Bishop has a 33-year career in the district and currently serves as its chief academic officer, overseeing the development and implementation of high-quality instructional programs for more than 170,000 students across 183 schools. The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County was founded in 1984 and awards grants, supports innovative programs and scholarships, and provides necessary school supplies and resources from Red Apple Supplies, the foundation’s signature program.

Community Foundation names vice president for community impact

Daryl K. Houston was recently named vice president for community impact at the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties. Houston has been with the Community Foundation since 2008 and grows the organization’s initiatives aimed at building the capacity of our nonprofit partners. Before the foundation, Daryl spent more than eight years with United Way of Palm Beach County. The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties is a nonprofit organization that leads philanthropy locally.

Community Foundation honors longtime voluteer, Hobe Sound resident

The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, a not-for-profit organization that leads partnerships with donors, nonprofits and community members to address the region’s chronic and emerging issues, recently announced that longtime volunteer Marshall Field V of Hobe Sound will receive the 2026 McIntosh Award. Named in honor of foundation founders Winsome and Michael McIntosh, the prestigious award is presented annually to an individual or organization who has made significant contributions to the community. A fifth-generation member of a family celebrated for its civic leadership, Field has channeled his time, talent, and resources into causes that reflect his lifelong passions — environmental conservation, education, healthcare, and the arts.

Wellington Regional Medical Center adds two to board of governors

Wellington Regional Medical Center recently announced the appointment of two community leaders, Maggie Zeller and Michael Drahos, to its board of governors. Zeller, founder and independent health insurance advisor at Zeller Health Insurance Solutions LLC, has been a trusted advocate for individuals navigating the complexities of health insurance since 2013. Drahos is a seasoned attorney specializing in maritime medical malpractice defense with over 15 years of experience representing shipboard medical professionals worldwide. Wellington Regional Medical Center is a 235-bed acute care hospital that has treated the residents in Wellington and the surrounding community for over three decades.

Mother, son from Romano Law Group recognized for outstanding work

Romano Law Group recently announced that Eric Romano and Nancy Romano were each honored with a prestigious award by the Florida Justice Association during the Masters of Justice Award Luncheon at the Four Seasons Orlando in September. Eric Romano, a board-certified trial attorney and past president of the FJA, received the Al J. Cone Lifetime Achievement Award, which honors a career of leadership, example-setting, devotion, and courage, reflecting the life and legacy of Al J. Cone. Nancy Romano was awarded the Joan Williams Award, which recognizes non-attorney individuals who have spent a lifetime demonstrating professionalism and perseverance in promoting and protecting the civil justice system. Nancy plays a vital role in the day-to-day running of Romano Law Group. “Being recognized alongside my mom at this prestigious event is incredibly meaningful,” Eric Romano said. “Our family’s commitment to justice spans generations.”
